Faostbus – New Index to quantify randomness discovered
What makes a cipher text be different from a plain text is that the first is more random than the second. In this project is introduced a new index to quantify randomness discoverd by me while trying to design stream ciphers. If you download the application faostbus.exe and click the button Readme you’ll get more informations.
This application invite you to an experience ! :
first step :Choose a non encrypted text file and compute it’s faostbus index ( click the button ! )
second step : Encrypt the file you had choosed in step 1
third step : Compute the encrypted file resulting from the second step ( click the button again! )
what you’ll notice is
That the faostbus index of the encrypted file is nearer to 256 / 3 than the faostbus index of the non encrypted text file.
For you hackers I’v attached source code … there is a new way to know if a channel is encrypted : you just compute it’s faostbus index !
